Friday night at Paycor, Burrow rolled left under pressure and threw a 60-yard strike to Chase over Bryan Cook's head. The preseason opener against Detroit is four days away.

THE OFFENSE
Friday Night Gave the Offense Its Best Moment of Camp
Storms pushed them indoors to start, but the offense still delivered the play everyone's been waiting for. Burrow escaped the rush, rolled left, and threw 55 to 60 yards to Chase, who caught it over Cook. Mike Petraglia called it "an absolute dot right on the hands."
Chase Brown added a 60-yard untouched touchdown run, finding another gear past the second level. Dalton Risner's pull block from right guard on that completion showed the under-center package functioning the way it was designed.
Erick All Jr. Is Back
He tore his ACL on November 3, 2024, suffered a setback in his recovery, and missed the entire 2025 season. Now he's with the first-team offense. Burrow: "He looks fit, fast, explosive. He'll play a big role for us this year." All caught 20 of 22 targets before the injury in 2024. With Gesicki as the receiving threat and Sample as the blocker, All is the one who can do both.
THE DEFENSE
Dexter Lawrence Is Already Changing How This Offense Has to Think

Jori Epstein of Yahoo Sports, who has covered four Bengals training camps, said the defense looked better than the offense when she visited this week, and that wasn't just her read. Chase told Epstein Lawrence was "terrorizing practice and showing the offensive line who's boss." Al Golden told Epstein he's already been changing the playbook and integrating schemes that play to Lawrence's strengths. Chase said the defensive backs are playing more confidently because of the pressure Lawrence is creating up front. Bryan Cook punctuated the first padded practice by jumping a route on the final rep, intercepting Burrow, and returning it for a touchdown.
Cashius Howell Is Looking Like a Steal
Jonathan Allen said it directly: "He's the real deal. Everything you've seen on tape, you see him do it at the NFL level. He's gonna be in the league a long time. He's a dog." Allen has played 126 NFL games and recorded 45.5 sacks. On Thursday, Howell beat Orlando Brown Jr. twice with the first-team defense, once on a speed rush and once on a power move that drove Brown backwards. Taylor: "He's been really physical. He's really embraced the physicality of playing defensive end. He's got natural pass-rush ability, which shows up on a daily basis."
Separately, Barrett Carter's command at the line of scrimmage has taken a noticeable leap from year one. Taylor said Carter and Knight have both taken a big step, and that growth is what allows Golden to expand what he's calling.
Tacario Davis Making Plays
Tacario Davis, the third-round corner, nearly picked Burrow off early in camp and added two interceptions during the indoor portion of Friday's practice, getting extra reps with Dax Hill sidelined. Cornerbacks coach Charles Burks: "He's a sponge. He asks a lot of questions, and he took a giant step today from a technique standpoint."
THE ROSTER
The WR3 Job Is Iosivas's to Lose
Iosivas has the reps and the coaching staff's trust at the moment, but Colbie Young drew a pass interference call against DJ Turner II in the first padded practice and has been consistently winning reps. Iosivas dropped a would-be first down in the final period of Thursday's practice. Then there's Dohnte Meyers, the 26-year-old CFL convert who helped the Saskatchewan Roughriders win the 2025 Grey Cup and hasn't dropped a ball yet in camp. His surest path to the 53 is the returner job, where he averaged 9.4 yards per punt return and 29.0 yards per kickoff return in Canada. If Meyers wins that competition, the Bengals could have the first CFL player to roster out of their camp since Andrew Hawkins in 2011.
CHASE BROWN'S EXTENSION IS COMING
Chase Brown Is Eyeing an Extension and the Market Is Moving Fast

With Bijan Robinson, Jahmyr Gibbs, and Jonathan Taylor all getting new deals, Brown is watching the running back market climb. "I think it pushes up everybody's market value," he said. Duke Tobin has Brown, Dax Hill, and DJ Turner all on his list to re-sign before the regular season, with a Labor Day deadline for any extension.
2,806 yards from scrimmage and 22 total touchdowns over the last two seasons. 123 receptions in that span ranks fourth among NFL running backs, and nine receiving touchdowns tied for second. Spotrac places his next deal at four years, $52.3 million. Brown is making $3.7 million this season. Burrow: "There's only a couple backs in this league that can do all the things that he does."
